Sparks Florist offers four types of classes to the public, each at our large, state-of-the-art Floral Design Center at 1440 Hymer Avenue in Sparks.

DIY Floral Design (click title for details)
We’ll guide you step by step in creating a different arrangement at each DIY class based upon a unique or seasonal theme, and are usually offered twice a month. These classes are lots of fun and provide a great opportunity for you to express your creativity while arranging a piece you take with you for your home, office, or a friend. These affordable classes are conducted from 11:00am to 12:30 pm, on Saturdays, and we provide all of the materials and instruction at a cost equal to or less than our normal retail price for the given design.

Customized DIY Classes
You tell us when, what, and how many, and we will customize a class or design party specifically for your group, providing facilities, tools, materials, with the level of instruction or assistance completely up to you, on an ala-carte basis, with flowers, greens, containers, and other hard-goods available in bulk quantities at greatly reduced prices through our Marketplace division. These classes are perfect for Girls-Night-Out parties, birthday parties, youth groups, Church groups, fraternal clubs, company team- building exercises, marketing programs, and the ever popular wedding flower design parties for brides on a budget. 

Florist Fundamentals (click title for details)
This is a great entry-level class conducted in a working traditional retail florist setting, and is offered in conjunction with the Community Services Division of Truckee Meadows Community College. This fun, popular, and very successful class is scheduled for 10 continuous weekday sessions over a two-week period, each 3-hours long during the afternoon. The goal is to provide basic training for students to be hired as a Care and Handling Associate, Design Assistant, Office Assistant, or Sales Associate in a retail floral business. The only complaint students have about this class is that it just isn’t long enough!

Floral Arranging for Fun (click title for details)
This class also is offered in conjunction with the Community Services Division of Truckee Meadows Community College, and is setup to teach design fundamentals to the hobbyist. Always different, fun, and interesting, this 3-week class is offered at the Floral Design Center as is Florist Business Fundamentals, but for one two-hour session every Thursday evening. We supply the materials, you supply the tools, such as knife and scissors. Don’t miss it!
